Navigating Emotional Relationships in Adolescence

Today, our school hosted the Family Education Workshop on “Navigating Emotional Relationships in Adolescence” for parents of middle and high school students. Organized by Dr. Sharifi, Head of the Counseling Department, the workshop explored key topics through insightful discussions and real-life examples, including: • Identity Formation – Understanding how parents can support their children in developing independent identities. • Peer Relationships – Guiding children in managing their interactions with peers. • Friendships Outside of School – The role of parental involvement in shaping and overseeing these relationships. The event began with a heartfelt performance of the school anthem by middle school students, followed by a screening of video clips highlighting student activities across both educational levels. Following the workshop, twelfth-grade students led a dynamic debate on the topic, “Should parents be aware of their children’s emotional relationships?” which was highly engaging and well received by parents. The program was skillfully moderated by a twelfth-grade student, whose leadership added to the event’s success.
